Yachts: Are They Strictly For Rich People?

A question has just peaked my interest. Are yachts made only for rich people? I see how much most of them cost, but after reading what I’ve read from an article on NZS.com I really think that this is true. How can a typical person of a low class status purchase a yacht? I don’t even think it’s possible.
In this article I’d read, a man by the name of Paul Allen owns a $200 million yacht. He employs a crew of 60, and it has two helicopters, seven boats, and a 10-man submarine that has the capacity to sleep eight for up to two weeks underwater. The cost to maintain this yacht is estimated to be $20 million!!!
I don’t know of anyone who could afford something like this. People barely can afford cars and houses these days. Yacht are good to have only if you’re rich. A high class person may be able to get their hands on a small yacht of some sort, but not one of this size and quality. You’d have to be making millions every month to afford something like this.
I don’t really like boats, and the cost of them make me almost hate them. I guess I’m really not a vehicle person at all because I don’t like cars either. I don’t even know anything about them except how to drive them. I will never be able to afford a boat, but I will we able to afford a car.
