Sailing yachts are much smaller boats. I would never get on one of those because there’s less chance of survival. People who like to be spontaneous would love one of these. These are the boats that you see people hanging off of in some movies. I would never do that. I can’t even swim!
I’ve done a little research on sailing boats made by Covey Island Boatworks. This company has been building yachts since 1979. Among the sailing yachts from Covey Island Boatworks were that of the 27′ Electric Ketch named Czarina, the 62′ Schooner Maggie B and a Westernman 40 named Chance.
The Czarina’s owner was a man named Tom Goodwin. He and Laurie McGowan designed it, and it was based on the work of E. Stinson from 1890.
The Schooner Maggie B was built in 2006, and it’s owner is Frank Blair. This boat was sailed around the globe in places including Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn.
The Chance was the fourth Westernman 40 built by Nigel Irens. This boat was launched by Covey Island Boatworks in the year 2000.
Somehow it is exciting finding out new things about something someone like me never thinks about. I guess I wouldn’t think about it because I don’t ride boats. If I did ride boats, I would never ride a yacht like these. I have to be in a big one because I’d feel safer if something was to go wrong.
