Not only does this yacht look odd, it’s oddly named as well. The 118 WallyPower is a luxury high performance superyacht that fuses together technology and fashionable design in seamless perfection. No wonder this baby won the MYDA (Millennium Yacht Design Award).

The Wallypower 118 is one of a kind having with its vertical bow, lateral air inlets, as well as its angular deck superstructure.
The sleek minimalist design of the 118 WallyPower wasn’t without practical purpose. It was the result of an extensive research and development program. This included testing of the water tank at the SSPA facility in Goteborg, Sweden, and also wind tunnel testing at the Ferrari facility in Maranello, Italy.

Technical solutions contribute to the yachts appeal, like the superstructure design Wallypower 118 that features flat surfaces in order to be transparent. The yacht features all the spacious comforts normally associated with mega yachts together with the seafaring characteristics of coast-guard boats.

While wallowing in complete luxury, guests are can cruise for up to 60 knots whether in calm or rough water. The clean, slick lines of the yacht were made prominent by the absence of visible cleats, mooring winches, radar antenna, TV dome or anchor system.
An innovative interceptor system tailors the boat’s trim to further improve performance and comfort in any sea condition.

Having a length of 452.75 ft, a cruising speed of 28 knots, four diesel engines that output 48,000 horsepower, the Rising Sun is an awesome yacht!
This luxury yacht is owned by Larry Ellison, founder and CEO of Oracle. He is worth around US$18 billion, and is ranked the ninth richest man in the world. No wonder he can afford to own such a splendid boat that costs more than US$13 million a year to maintain.

The Rising Sun features 8,000 square meters of total living space, a large swimming pool, a wine cellar, a movie house, a basketball court that is also being used as a helipad, 16 suites, 82 rooms, and a space for private submarine.

According to “The World’s 100 Largest Yachts” (2005), the Rising Sun is the world’s second largest yacht. Originally meant to be only 120 meters in length, Larry changed his mind at some point and instead had it made it 138 meters long, because, as rumor has it, he wanted his boat to be bigger than the 128-meter Octopus owned by Paul Allen of Microsoft.

The Rising Sun was built by Lürssen in Bremen, Germany, and constructed by Jon Bannenberg. Neither words nor photographs can do justice to the magnificence and beauty of this luxury yacht.
