You’d be amazed with what names you could find for a boat. I found out some information that I never would have thought about. These boats actually played in movies, and you may say to yourself the same thing I did.
Did you know that Tiger Woods sued the builder of his yacht because the builder used his purchase as a promotion for their product when he was supposed to keep the purchase private? Tiger Woods named his boat Privacy. His boat cost him $20 million, and it was 155ft.
The boat that played in the movie “Jaws” was named Orca. What kind of name is that? I’ve never heard of that name, but it is a nice name for a boat. I did like the movie a lot, but I tend to get scared sometimes of watching it. I remember the scene where they finally killed the shark. The movie ended with the boat scene too.
The name of the boat in Gilligan’s Island was the SS Minnow. You know this made me think about a scene in the movie, “Rush Hour 2″. Chris Tucker was trying to talk to a woman and making sly comments. He said that the boat that they were on was his yacht when it was someone else’s. He said to the lady, “my yacht is your yacht”. The lady asked him what it was called and he said ” the SS MINNOW JOHNSON”. I got a real laugh out of that one.
The name of Popeye’s boat was the Olive. I didn’t like to watch popeye that much as a kid. I do know that it tried to teach children to eat their spinich. I actually liked spinich when I was a kid, but every kid doesn’t like it.
The most popular boat names for 2007 are as follows:
- Black Pearl
- Liberty
- Second Wind
- Amazing Grace
- Aquaholic
- Knot On- Call
- Second Chance
- Wanderlust
- The Dog House
- Seas the Day
These are some really good names for boats. It’s amazing how you find out something you normally wouldn’t even think about.

Thank you,
