The president and C.E.O. of Azimut is Paolo Vitelli. He started this business in 1969, and the first fiberglass motor-cruisers developed was the AZ43BALI, and it was an instant success. Azimut has 3 shipyards. Among the three are Aviligiana, Savona and Viareggio. Aviligiana is the head office, and it makes about 350 boats per year. The boats being made range from 39′ to 68′.
Azimut yachts sold more in Europe than anywhere else in the globe. They sold the least in Australia at about 4%. Here’s a chart of the Azimut share sales in different regions of the world.
- Europe=54%
- USA=26%
- Latin America=11%
- Middle East=5%
- Far East/Australia=4%
Azimut had 2 boat shows last year and 2 shows this year.
Azimut gives courtesy yachts for those who are suffering damages to their yacht. The service is guaranteed for all crafts between 39-80 ft under warranty. Owners must provide food and lodging for the captain.
I do wonder why they sold the least in Australia when Australia is a water traveling area. The people there are especially known for traveling and discovering the outdoor life… At least I thought so, because you see it on television. People of Australia is always doing something with nature including: fishing, hunting and discovering new things.
